Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager Flanders | Vacancy Brussels

    • Brussels
  • Legal & Public Affairs

Job description

As Regulatory Affairs Manager Flanders, you play a key role in shaping the regulatory environment that supports the energy transition. You monitor policy developments, assess their impact on the business and help translate complex regulatory changes into opportunities and strategic decisions. Through your expertise and stakeholder network, you contribute to a stable and forward-looking energy market while helping Luminus navigate an increasingly complex regulatory landscape.

What you'll do

  • You monitor and analyse developments in Flemish and Federal energy regulation, with a particular focus on energy supply, consumer protection, public service obligations, energy taxation, distribution network access and pricing.

  • Working closely with internal stakeholders, you assess the impact of legislative and regulatory initiatives, identify risks and opportunities, and provide recommendations that support business decisions.

  • You develop and defend company positions through consultation responses, briefing notes, position papers and engagement with sector organisations and authorities.

  • Through your expertise and network, you represent Luminus in industry discussions and help ensure that business interests are effectively communicated while maintaining a strategic and collaborative approach.

  • You support business teams by translating complex regulatory requirements into practical business implications and by facilitating constructive dialogue between regulatory affairs and operational teams.

  • Together with colleagues from Legal, Public Affairs, Sustainability, Business Development and Operations, you contribute to the company's broader regulatory strategy within the Belgian and European context.

What you bring

  • A Master's degree in Law, Economics, Engineering, History or a comparable field provides you with a strong foundation for analysing complex regulatory environments.

  • You bring at least 10 years of relevant experience in Regulatory Affairs, energy policy, the energy sector, legal practice or a comparable environment where strategic analysis and stakeholder management are central.

  • Strong knowledge of the Belgian energy market, regulatory affairs or public policy enables you to quickly assess the impact of regulatory developments. Experience within the energy sector is a strong asset.

  • Your analytical mindset allows you to assess complex legislative proposals, understand their business impact and formulate clear recommendations under time pressure.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, networking and collaboration skills help you build trusted relationships internally and externally while balancing different interests.

  • Strong communication skills in Dutch and French enable you to operate effectively across the Flemish and Federal regulatory landscape.

What you'll get in return?

The energy sector is one of the most rewarding industries in Belgium with a highly rewarding compensation and benefits package:

  • Competitive compensation: Attractive salary with a performance-based bonus that can be optimized to your personal preferences, plus meal vouchers.

  • Insurance & social benefits: Group insurance and hospitalization coverage for the entire family. Additional reimbursement for healthcare and pharmaceutical costs.

  • Mobility: Full reimbursement for public transport, kilometer-based cycling reimbursement and flexible mobility choices: you can choose between a company car or mobility budget.

  • Internet & communication: Home internet covered, reimbursement for a personal mobile device with a phone subscription.

  • Home Office: A fully-equipped home office, including an ergonomical ICT set-up.

  • Exclusive discounts: 30% off gas and electricity after six months, discounts on energy-saving services (e.g., solar panels, heat pumps) and reduced prices on top brands, amusement parks, festivals and more.

  • Contribute directly to the energy transition by influencing the regulatory framework of one of Belgium's leading energy companies.

  • Take ownership of high-impact regulatory dossiers where your analyses and recommendations can directly influence business decisions and sector discussions.

  • Join a team of experienced regulatory professionals and work closely with stakeholders across the Belgian energy ecosystem, regulators and sector organisations.

  • You work and connect with your colleagues at a Luminus office or from home. Need some flexibility? Your manager is open to discuss what works.
