Generation Data Intelligence Manager

As a GDIT Manager (Generation Data Intelligence Team Manager), you lead the transformation of data into actionable insights within our Generation department, shaping strategy, driving innovation, and maximising the performance of critical energy assets across Belgium.

What you’ll do

• You build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of data scientists, data engineers and ML engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

• You own and prioritise the full portfolio of data, analytics, ML, and AI use cases to maximise business value across Generation.

• You define and drive the data intelligence strategy, acting as the bridge between operational teams and IT.

• You co-create the technical roadmap and elevate the team’s maturity towards advanced data and analytics capabilities.

• You collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, asset management, leadership) and manage external partners.

• You ensure measurable impact by monitoring business value, improving reporting and enabling predictive, data-driven decision-making.

What you bring

• You have a Master’s degree in engineering (or equivalent experience) and at least 5 years of team leadership experience.

• You bring strong expertise in Python, data engineering, cloud technologies (AWS), and data platforms such as Snowflake and DBT.

• You have proven experience industrialising machine learning solutions and delivering high-impact data use cases.

• You are familiar with industrial or utility environments, including OT systems and time-series data (e.g. PI systems).

• You are a strong communicator and leader, with the ability to coach teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.

• You combine strategic vision with hands-on execution and thrive in a fast-evolving, complex environment.
